When we lead the meeting, your whole team participates in rich, focused conversation.
Training
Training is about more than time spent in a classroom, it’s about improved performance on the job long after the training session ends. We use the latest knowledge about adult learners to maximize applicability and engagement. This is what Hathaway Munro trainings do for you and your people.
We deliver engaging and practical training on a variety of workplace topics. Our trainings get rave reviews from participants and leadership alike. Employees enjoy their time in class and actually apply the training concepts when they get back to work.
In our training sessions participants talk with their neighbors and colleagues, get out of their chairs, write on the walls, do role plays, tell stories, and build connections. As lively as our trainings are, we carefully design the agenda to engage and educate. We develop specific training outcomes and are able to incorporate your company metrics as well.
We offer trainings on many topics - all of them having to do with people and work. These topics may be considered “soft skills” but they remain integral to workplace success and are being recognized more and more as integral to overall company performance.
Some of our training is well suited to a two or three hour session and some of our training is better suited to a multi-week training series. To get a sense of how our training can help your business, we would like to schedule a complimentary one hour meeting to understand your business needs. In that conversation we can discuss different training goals, timelines, formats, and budgets.
Below is a list of some of the topics we offer training on. If the topic you’re interested in isn’t here, please reach out to us and we’ll be happy to put something together for you.

Coaching
Sometimes training and support is best delivered in an individual setting. Certain topics and situations call for a one on one relationship that can layer and reinforce new skills and habits over time. Coaching builds a direct relationship with one of our skilled trainers. Coaching allows for individualized content and immediate feedback. Coaching also takes place over multiple sessions so we are able to help participants troubleshoot issues and manage situations in real time.
In our first coaching session we identify the key issues or desired changes on which to focus. We will then build a plan and a timeline for the coaching engagement. Each coaching session provides opportunities for the participant to talk about current situations as well as on-going issues. In addition to working with the coaching client, it is also possible for us to interview key colleagues so that we can better understand the situation.
Coaching can take place at your workplace, our office, or other locations.
Facilitation
Bringing in a facilitator allows you to participate fully while being guided by professionals modeling best-practices for effective meetings and retreats. When you have important conversations on the horizon, it is important for leaders to be involved in the conversations. When the leader is stuck facilitating the conversation or the meeting, it can be complicated for them to participate or for productive disagreements and discussions to occur. Hathaway Munro’s facilitators make space within the conversation for all voices to be shared and heard.
We lead retreats and work with teams. These range from executive team planning sessions to supporting teams in crisis. These situations call for a blend of facilitation and training. We help colleagues with annual and strategic plans, work through issues, improve team dynamics, and build rapport.
We also can facilitate a process - either as project managers or consultants. Hiring an outside facilitator helps keep your organization from choosing sides and adds an expert to your team.
Here are some of the conversations, meetings, and retreats we do:
Scale leadership skills for a growing company
Strengthen team leadership effectiveness
Strategic planning
Strengthen team dynamics at any level
Guide process flow for a major project
Consulting
Our consulting practice focuses on assessment and planning. We help clients identify and define their organizational development issues and then work with them to build plans to address and resolve these issues.
Some of our favorite methods to identify issues and needs include interviews, surveys, analysis of company metrics and systems, and facilitated group brainstorming and feedback sessions.
Once issues are identified we work with you to determine the root causes. This step is integral and one of the most commonly skipped steps for organizations who don’t work with outside support. When you uncover the “why” you are able to build strategies that create lasting and effective change.
The plans and strategies that we help clients build often include some combination of the following: training, internal and external communication strategies, more consistent onboarding, reformatted annual or periodic review performance practices, more clearly defined meeting agendas and practices, and work with the leadership team.
Bringing in consultants to help with analysis and planning adds outside perspectives and expertise. This helps your people ask the questions that are scary. And, it also helps bring sunlight to topics that internal people take as given or never thought to question.
We start by building a relationship with your staff so we can work together as a member of the to address your needs. We take the time to understand your situation and goals to maximize overall effectiveness.
